Karen Tacon
‘Seed Thoughts’
An exhibition of message and messenger paintings.

Sometimes acts of creativity can appear mysterious to the viewer.

‘Meaning’ and ‘intention’ are not always obvious, and the artist can choose to allow the work to speak for itself… or not.

Geelong artist Karen Tacon chooses to leave a trail of crumbs for us to appreciate her images by referring to her inspiration:

“The concept of seed thoughts is derived from the phenomena of orbs or shapes of light that appear in paranormal psychology. Interestingly, Sanskrit refers to these as ‘seed thoughts’. For me, these shapes are pleasing, and offer a vehicle for exploring movement, luminosity and colour harmony.  They give rise to my own thoughts of opening to higher energies and proceeding forward with love, light and hope.”

Landscapes from the Southern Tablelands

OPENING:
Saturday 1st November - 12 MIDDAY
The exhibition continues to December
Sat-Sun 10am-3pm

Holding his family legacy of landscape painting, Bob finds himself coming full circle and back to his roots with these fresh paintings of the local country in oils and palette knife. Some of us will recognise these trees as individuals, and in the winter months the fog which often rolls through the country and softens the light coming through the trees.

Orchard Street Gallery is a small space with a big heart. We present regularly changing solo and group exhibitions of contemporary Australian art, with a strong commitment to emerging and unrepresented artists, both local and further afield. As practicing artists ourselves, we appreciate those who are inspired by the natural world and protecting our fragile ecosystems for the future.
